The Voice Contestant Ashley Dubose hits the stage at our 17th annual gala

This year, we are excited to announce that Ashley DuBose, NBC’s The Voice Contestant and former Little Sister, will be joining us on stage at our 17th Annual Gala for a special performance backed by a surprise group of vocalists. DuBose, a graduate of St. Catherine University, is a singer-songwriter pursuing her passion for music full-time after her successful experience on national television.  Her newest album, “Be You”, recently dropped and has received many accolades from local critics. DuBose is an inspiration for many, and in a recent interview with City Pages, who named her the best female vocalist in Minneapolis in 2014, she explains how she stuck with her dream despite various obstacles saying, “I had these things come up that could’ve been roadblocks, but I didn’t stop, and here’s the things that come of it because I persisted.” We look forward to welcoming Ashley DuBose on the stage!

Ashley auditioned for The Voice in 2013, and left her job as a programmer analyst at Securian Financial Group to devote her time to her music career, she told the Pioneer Press. “This is my purpose in life — to bring joy and inspiration to people’s lives through my music,” she said.

Before her success on national television, Ashley was mentored by her Big Sister Donna for eight years. Ashley graduated from the BBBS program in 2007, received an Annexstad Scholarship and went on to study mathematics at St. Catherine University. She watched her Voice audition on TV with her Big Sister by her side.

With her uplifting songs and powerful voice, we look forward to seeing Ashley perform Rihanna’s “Diamonds” at our 17th Annual Gala on Saturday, May 16th at the Hyatt Regency in Minneapolis. To buy tickets for the gala, please click here.
