It’s the most wonderful time of the year: National Volunteer Week. From April 12th to the 18th, we take a little extra time to laud the remarkable work of volunteers across America who selflessly donate their time and energy to improving their communities through service. We at Big Brothers Big Sisters wish to thank all of our incredible volunteers for their commitment and enthusiasm for our mission of providing children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported, 1-to-1 relationships that change their lives for the better, forever. Because of our volunteers, youth across the Greater Twin Cities area are given the opportunity to develop meaningful bonds with caring adults. Largely because of these relationships, Littles are more likely to get better grades, less likely to engage in risky actions, and they report a stronger sense of social acceptance. These outcomes demonstrate that Bigs can make a difference, and we cannot thank them enough for their service and dedication.
We invite you to Start Something by beginning your own journey as a Big Brother or Big Sister. For more information, please visit www.BigsTwinCities.org.
