Save the Date for the Big Little 5K – September 27, 2014

On your marks… get set… get ready for the Big Little 5K! The second annual Big Little 5K will take place on Saturday, September 27 at 9am. This fun, family friendly event is open to everyone, and all proceeds will go directly to support Big Brothers Big Sisters’ youth mentoring programs. So whether you’re a competitive racer, a first-time runner, or you just want to take in the fall colors on a stroll around beautiful Lake Como, by attending the Big Little 5K, you’ll make a big difference to kids in the Twin Cities!

The Big Little 5K will take place on the certified USA Track and Field course around Lake Como. The race will be chip-timed, and prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers in three age categories.

The Big Little 5K is a great event for families and BBBS matches. Any adult/child pair that registers for the 5K together will save $15 on registration. And kids age 8 and under can get a taste for racing in the Kids’ Fun Run, a short dash about the length of a football field. All fun run participants will receive a medal!

The fun doesn’t end when you cross the finish line. This year, we will have a DJ spinning tunes, healthy refreshments, and activities for the kids.

Also new this year, runners and walkers in the Big Little 5K can create their own individual fundraising page. Prizes will be awarded to those who raise more than $100, and the donations will help more children in the Twin Cities get the support and encouragement they need.

So lace up your tennies and join us at Lake Como for a fun-filled morning of fresh air and exercise! You can register for the Big Little 5K here >
